Branford Historical Society

Historical

We are NOT an old-fashioned historical society! We have fun and we educate! Typical volunteer opportunities every year: ·        Hosting groups of giggling third-graders who learn about life in 1724 (the year our Harrison House was built) ·        Decorating Harrison House for members to enjoy fragrant mulled cider, delicious desserts and snacks, and live music at our annual Holiday party ·        Celebrating historical milestones (such as the Marquis de Lafayette's visit to Branford in 1724), ·        Helping with organizing members-only tours at cool places like Branford's Center Cemetery (established 1645!) ·        Preparing and serving our traditional Strawberry Shortcake (a Townwide favorite!) at every Branford Festival And there are plenty of other opportunities, whether in front of the public or working quietly by yourself - from being a guide at Harrison House to helping to scan & archive old documents. Contact us and let us know what YOU'D enjoy, and we'll work with you to find the right fit.
