Finance
The Branford Microfund provides interest-free loans to Branford residents who encounter unexpected financial obstacles but cannot afford or obtain a commercial loan. Our philosophy is to “pay it forward” – when a loan recipient repays a loan, the money becomes available to help another person in need. If you’d like to volunteer your time, please let us know. We are committed to helping our neighbors and we welcome your expertise and assistance to make that happen! How it works: Potential applicants must be 18 years of age and demonstrate the ability to repay their loan. Our loan limit is $3,000, and all loans must be repaid within 30 months via a signed promissory note. Repayment of loans allows the Fund to recycle its donations and help other community members. The loan application is quick and easy, and can be done online or in person. Our loan committee invests significant time and effort in assisting qualified applicants move forward.
