🙌 BYBL is looking for a Program Assistant (Grades K-3)! Help us run a smooth basketball season by supporting the setup and breakdown of the program each Saturday. 📅 Saturdays, December through February 🛠️ Responsibilities: Assist with morning setup, game turn over, and travel team setup, equipment. ⏰Based on the program schedule, typically beginning at 8:00 am and ending at 12:45 pm ✅ Great for Responsible BHS students looking to earn community service hours or work with a great Basketball Program, or an existing parent of this program would be a great addition! The Soundview Family YMCA team, in collaboration with the Branford Board of Education, is teaching your children to be safe in and around the water. The Y’s Safety Around Water program teaches children of all ages and from all backgrounds that water can be fun, not scary. Knowing how to be safe around water is one of the most important life skills we can teach our children - it gives them confidence, and can save their lives. The YMCA is looking for volunteers to help swim instruction. This free program is designed to assist individuals in need of support and/or transportation to and from medical appointments. It helps facilitate travel from a person's home to their doctor's office and back. Medical chaperone volunteers are available to provide essential support, offering door-to-door assistance. These chaperones can offer to drive individuals directly, if ambulatory or accompany them if alternative transportation options are utilized, ensuring a safe and supportive journey. Appointments are typically prescheduled and episodic, but some folks have established relationships that offer consistency for all.

The Concession Stand Attendant helps provide a positive game-day experience by supporting food and beverage service at the Branford Youth Football concession stand. This role is ideal for volunteers who enjoy working with people, staying organized, and supporting a team environment. Opening Duties (stock and organize supplies, ensure equipment is ready for the day), During operation greet customers, communicate with cook, handle cash, keep the work area clean, work well with others, Closing Duties (clean up, turn off all equipment, secure money, count).

The mission of Branford Basketball League (BYBL) is to provide quality, instructional basketball opportunities for all levels to the youth of Branford. Our goal is to offer programs that enhance players’ basketball knowledge and skills, while promoting personal growth, teamwork, and fun. From beginners with little to no experience, to intermediate and competitive players, BYBL offers boys and girls in grades K-8 a variety of programs, including introductory clinics (K&1), recreational leagues (2-8), and competitive travel teams (4–8). As a volunteer-run, non-profit organization, we are committed to creating a positive, supportive environment where every child has the chance to learn, play, and love the game of basketball, which may include growth to Branford High School opportunities.
