Branford, October 4, 10:00 AM Join us for a pleasant walk on the Shoreline Greenway Trail starting at Tabor and going all the way to Young’s Pond Park and back along the Branford Trail. We’ll pass Chet’s Pond, the Branford Labyrinth, the community garden, the solar array, and other points of interest. The walk is approximately 4 miles, but a shorter loop of 2.8 miles is also available. This is a great time of year to enjoy this beautiful, setting! East Haven November 1, 10:00 AM First Saturday Walk on The Shoreline Greenway Trail Experience the beauty of autumn on a scenic refreshing trail walk. The walk will begin along the shoreline at Coe Avenue and Bradford Avenue and proceed to the wooded area off Elliot Street to the intrinsic beauty of the trail in Farm River State Park. Madison September 6, 10:00 AM Today we will walk in the cool shade of the western section of the trail in Hammonasset Park through the coastal forest and past the ever-changing salt marsh. 2.5 miles roundtrip. Modest hills. Good birdwatching! The REI water station will be available for humans and dogs. Connecticut Hospice Homecare Volunteers have an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of patients who have terminal illnesses. The type of homecare visits are as follows:Respite: Sit with patient while caregiver runs errands, has doctor appointments, etc. This will be in a private home.Enrichment: Many patients are very lonely and would like to talk, play cards, have a book or newspaper read to them, etc. They may be in a skilled nursing facility, assisted living or private home. The RSVP volunteer program at the Agency on Aging is actively seeking volunteers who are ready to engage in meaningful conversations and connections. Many individuals can no longer drive, making trips to the grocery store essential for promoting independence and a sense of belonging. The program has established onboarding procedures to ensure the safety and appropriateness of interactions for both volunteers and recipients. Please join us in making a difference!

This free program is designed to assist individuals in need of support and/or transportation to and from medical appointments. It helps facilitate travel from a person's home to their doctor's office and back. Medical chaperone volunteers are available to provide essential support, offering door-to-door assistance. These chaperones can offer to drive individuals directly, if ambulatory or accompany them if alternative transportation options are utilized, ensuring a safe and supportive journey. Appointments are typically prescheduled and episodic, but some folks have established relationships that offer consistency for all.
