Branford, October 4, 10:00 AM Join us for a pleasant walk on the Shoreline Greenway Trail starting at Tabor and going all the way to Young’s Pond Park and back along the Branford Trail. We’ll pass Chet’s Pond, the Branford Labyrinth, the community garden, the solar array, and other points of interest. The walk is approximately 4 miles, but a shorter loop of 2.8 miles is also available. This is a great time of year to enjoy this beautiful, setting! On October 5, 2025, the Branford Microfund is hosting an all-day outdoor fundraising event at Foote Memorial Park. This event runs from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. including food, drink, music entertainment, yoga, games, and an artisan market showcasing local goods and services, The event will also include game prizes, and a silent auction. The event has been thoughtfully designed for accessibility and appeal for all ages and families against the beautiful backdrop of the park’s many features.

Reading to the Animals is a positive way for animals to interact with people while also providing therapy to them . We want this experience to be as stress free as possible for the animals as shelter life can be stressful . For this program, you will bring a book of your choosing, and we suggest bringing a pillow or soft blanket with you to sit on while you read . Once you pick your animal , you will stay in that spot for the duration of the reading program . We use soft tones while reading and speaking to the animals . We will be posting the link to sign up for this reading session in mid- September - please be sure to keep an eye out on our Facebook page and our website to sign up!

East Haven November 1, 10:00 AM First Saturday Walk on The Shoreline Greenway Trail Experience the beauty of autumn on a scenic refreshing trail walk. The walk will begin along the shoreline at Coe Avenue and Bradford Avenue and proceed to the wooded area off Elliot Street to the intrinsic beauty of the trail in Farm River State Park.
