UPDATE 3/26: We are seeking a few individuals to drive our cargo van and do pick ups of donations at local stores and the CT Foodbank and bring them to the Food Pantry for sorting. Driver assistants will help with loading/unloading. Potential hours are on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings. We start early (7 AM) on some days but the hours are flexible. Requirements: valid CT drivers license, the ability to lift heavy boxes (possibly 50 lbs.), and the ability to make a commitment to a regular schedule.
This is a great opportunity for a couple of friends! Hours/days are flexible to some degree although we do have designated pick up times at several stores.
About Branford Food Pantry
The Branford Food Pantry is a 100% volunteer organization with the goal of providing supplemental groceries to Branford families in need.Currently we serve approximately 250 families every month. We are open on Tuesday (morning and evening) and Friday morning. During opening hours volunteers assist clients with their food choices, intake donations, stock shelves, help clients with the groceries, prepare and deliver groceries to homebound clients. Outside of hours, our volunteers pick up donations from a variety of sources, sort donations, stock shelves and prepare for opening.We are always looking for volunteers willing to make a commitment to regular hours.
