Branford Food Pantry

UPDATE 3/26: We are seeking a few individuals to drive our cargo van and do pick ups of donations at local stores and the CT Foodbank and bring them to the Food Pantry for sorting. Driver assistants will help with loading/unloading. Potential hours are on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings. We start early (7 AM) on some days but the hours are flexible. Requirements: valid CT drivers license, the ability to lift heavy boxes (possibly 50 lbs.), and the ability to make a commitment to a regular schedule. This is a great opportunity for a couple of friends! Hours/days are flexible to some degree although we do have designated pick up times at several stores.

Assist clients as they "shop" at the food pantry and help with set up, packing boxes for delivery to homebound clients, and clean up. 3 shifts available: Tuesday AM, Tuesday PM and Friday AM. Some Spanish is always a bonus! Some lifting involved. This is an primarily inside work but willingness to help outside (under cover) with additional client shopping is appreciated.

UPDATE 3/36: We are seeking a few people to help with managing food donations: loading/unloading our truck, sorting donations, stocking shelves. Possibly ride along on pick ups. Must be able to lift up to 40/50 pounds. Hours are early (7/7:30 AM) on Tuesday, Thursday and/or Friday mornings for about 3-4 hours although hours will be flexible as needed. Some outside (under cover) work possible. Requirements: ability to lift heavy boxes and make a commitment to regular attendance.
