Description
Paddle for the Sound celebrates the rivers, lakes, ocean, and all greenspaces that make the Long Island Sound region truly spectacular. This friendly kayak, SUP, and canoe competition and fundraiser helps to protect our region and build a world where everyone feels welcome and has access to enjoy this beautiful estuary. Each paddler is asked to raise a minimum of $150 by setting up a personal or team fundraiser page to support clean water across the Long Island Sound region.
Prizes will be awarded to top three in each category: Most Funds Raised and Total Distance Paddled. Be sure to track every excursion throughout the ten-day event period (7/31 - 8/9)

As a volunteer, there are many ways you can restore Long Island Sound’s shores and water quality and protect the land, air, and waters of your region. These include rain garden installations, event support, water quality monitoring, river and coastal cleanups, etc.
